The land of the rising sun’s rarest oak meets Ireland’s most inventive distillery. When it comes to maturation, their masters encourage their apprentices to think outside the barrel. This approach has led to the first single pot still whiskey finished in a Japanese Mizunara Oak puncheon, to see the light of day.

It’s story began in 1988 before curiosity got the better of the Method and Madness apprentice team. After its 30 year start it was refilled into this unique puncheon from the land of the rising sun for three years. The result is a perfect harmony of spicy pot still and perfumed oak.

Nose: Coffee cake, toasted nuts, worn leather.

Taste: Nutmeg, Vanilla, wood tannins.

Finish: Pot still spice. Subtle fruits. Fresh oak.
